With annual turnover of around £10 million and strong double digit growth, the business had reached an important stage in its development.

Bringing finance in house.
As Jimmy Garcia Catering continued to grow, its finance structure needed to evolve with it. The business had a bookkeeper in place, but the wider finance function was outsourced. With greater scale, increasing complexity and ambitious growth plans, there was a clear need to bring finance in house and create stronger financial ownership within the business.
The Head of Finance would become the lead finance person, reporting directly into the Managing Director and taking responsibility across financial accounting, management reporting and commercial business partnering.
This was therefore much more than a replacement hire. It was a pivotal appointment that would help shape how the finance function operated as the business entered its next phase of growth.

The brief required someone who could move comfortably between the detail of financial accounting and the bigger commercial picture, helping the leadership team make better informed decisions as the company continued to scale.
